Welcome to Seventh Avenue Elementary School

Seventh Avenue Elementary School is home to approximately 130 students in Kindergarten through Sixth grade.  The school is one of the three elementary schools of the Haddon Heights School District.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. ORMSBY:

Hello Seventh and Atlantic Avenue School Families:
It is February and it is cold...but look on the bright side, only five more months of this school year left.  Bring on the warm weather.  It will be here in a blink on an eye.  Be sure to read those weekly updates that go out each Wednesday and check your child's classroom teacher websites regularly.  There will be a plethora of information and activities coming.  The popular PTG Valentine's Dance is February 8, 2019.  Also, be sure to check out your school's facebook page for pictures from classroom/school events and new information.
All is going well at Seventh and Atlantic Avenue School.  The students are progressing nicely and MAP scores are showing progress in both Math and Reading skills.  At our last School Leadership and Safety meeting, that was held on January 28, 2019, we had great conversations on items such as special education, RTI, "Growth Mindset", secret recess parent, transitions, security, HIB, and much more.  Listed below are our next meeting dates and we always welcome more members to our group.
Continue to communicate with your classroom teachers for progress updates and concerns you may have.  The home and school connection is very important to continue with our successes in the Haddon Heights School District.

Seventh Avenue Community Service Project
Seventh Avenue School is working on a collaborative service project this year to help the Pender County School District as they continue to rebuild following the devastation of Hurricane Florence.  The students will be raising money through a read-a-thon in which family and friends will sponsor our students.  The teachers and students chose this service project for a few reasons, one being that our own teacher, Mrs. Applebaum started her career in this school district and has a strong connection with the families that attend that district.  The students also felt a strong obligation to help support other children like them.  The money raised will be used to create care packages for classrooms and families.  The children will write letters, create bookmarkers, and collect books & supplies that are needed to rebuild those classrooms.  More information will be sent out to the parents and guardians in the near future.
