Welcome to Seventh Avenue Elementary School

Seventh Avenue Elementary School is home to approximately 130 students in Kindergarten through Sixth grade.  The school is one of the three elementary schools of the Haddon Heights School District.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL, MR. ORMSBY:

Hello Stakeholders. February was a quick month filled with fun and learning for all of our children. Both Atlantic and Seventh Avenue Schools worked on their Community Service Projects and assisted many who are in need of help and assistance. Atlantic Avenue School staff members made and served dinner at the Ronald McDonald House and the students created care packages and place-mats for those residents. Seventh Avenue School hosted a Read-A-Thon and the students made book marks for the donated books that are being sent to Pender County School District in North Carolina, which was devastated by Hurricane Florence.  Many thanks goes out to the staff and students of Atlantic and Seventh Avenue School for all of their hard work to help others in need.
I hope everyone is enjoying the end of the winter months as we start to enter the Spring and March Madness.  March is a busy time of year with many events on the schedule.  There will be HHPTG sponsored assemblies, HHPTG Science Fair, Atlantic Avenue Talent Show, Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope For Heart), Read Across America, our first formal elementary school play, "Annie", and much more.  Also, Report cards will be coming home on March 20th.
Be sure to read those weekly email updates and to check your teacher's school website regularly.  The home and school connection is a valuable part in all of our educational endeavors.
The School Leadership and Safety Committee met on January 28, 2019 and March 4, 2019 and discussed many items to help make changes for the next school year.  Their input is valued.  Keep in mind that all are welcome to attend those meetings to have their thoughts be heard.   If at any time someone has an idea or a concern, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Ormsby.
Be sure to "Rock Your Socks" on March 21st because that date represents Trisomy 21, the medical term for Down syndrome.

Have a great March!

Sincerely,
Mr. Ormsby, Principal
